The Economic Development Summit is Rochester’s annual event, drawing together business owners, nonprofits, government agencies, and industry leaders. As a go-to gathering for celebrating progress, empowering innovation, and shaping the future of Rochester’s economy, this event hosted ~200 distinguished attendees, including insightful speakers, panelists, business owners, and key community influencers, converging over two dynamic days.
We kicked off the inaugural Summit as a Global Entrepreneurship (GEW) Week Official Activity! Since 2008, GEW has celebrated and empowered entrepreneurs globally, with over 40,000 activities in more than 200 countries yearly. As a signature program of the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN), it aims to remove barriers to starting and scaling businesses, supported by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation and other strategic partners.
For nearly a decade, the Prosperity Conference brought together business leaders and professionals, finance experts, economists, local entrepreneurs, and Rochester residents to network and collaborate. Our focus was on accelerating job growth, building community wealth, and fostering prosperity for everyone.

Andy Stoll is a serial social entrepreneur, producer, and professional speaker and currently serves as the Founding Executive Director of the Ecosystem Building Leadership Network — a newly forming network collectively designed to advance entrepreneurship ecosystem building as a valued practice, a trusted profession, and a model for economic health and community well-being in the United States.
He has co-founded seven entrepreneurial-focused organizations and most recently served as a Senior Program Officer in Entrepreneurship at the Kauffman Foundation. Much of his professional career has focused on building pioneering programs, communities, classes, and events to help entrepreneurs and creatives turn their ideas into reality.
Stoll moonlights as a photographer, sometimes chef, and occasional cooking class instructor. He is represented as a speaker by The College Agency.
Lyneir Richardson is CEO of The Chicago TREND Corporation, a commercial real estate firm that owns 6 shopping centers with over 380 community investors.
He provides advisory services to corporations, government agencies, and foundations. Lyneir is also an Assistant Professor of Professional Practice at Rutgers Business School and serves as the Executive Director of the university’s Center for Urban Entrepreneurship and Economic Development.
Lyneir was the CEO of the Economic Development Corporation in Newark, NJ, attracting investment and jobs to the city. He also served as Vice President of General Growth Properties Inc., developing shopping centers in urban areas.
